Years 3 and 5 students will engage in NAPLAN from Tuesday 15 until Thursday 17 May. Parents of these students would have heard about Naplan briefly at the Parent Information Evening held in February. The teachers of these students have been working hard to help your children to understand the processes involved with Naplan. This is fundamentally important as it allows us to reiterate that these tests will allow us to see what our students know and understand in Reading, Writing, Language Conventions and Numeracy. It also gives us the opportunity to alleviate the students’ fears or anxieties around tests such as these. We understand that leading up to Naplan, some students can feel particularly anxious. This is especially true for our beautiful Year Three students who will sit these tests for the first time and don’t really know what to expect at all. We work very hard to maintain perspective and allay any fears or worries the students may experience. If you feel your child is experiencing undue tension around Naplan, please let their teacher know so that we can work together to calm these feelings.
