Off to a Great Start

The new school year is off to a great start! It has been a joy to see our students engaged in life and learning at GA these past few weeks.

On Monday evening I joined parents online for our first P&F Meeting. It was a great first meeting and our Leadership Team is looking forward to working with our new executive and parents to support our aspiration of making our school an exemplary school, united in living the Gospel.

On Wednesday night, our school Leadership Team presented our school priorities for 2021 at our Parent Partnership session. We were joined by 85-90 parents. The online platform worked well and was quite efficient in helping us connect with parents and caregivers as we discussed the big rocks for 2021. For those parents/caregivers who could not join us, a recording of the presentation can be located on the Parent Portal under the Videos section of the home page.

Our improvement agenda this year consists of five core goals and two additional school priorities. These goals are published below for your information:

Core School Priorities

  1. Deepen the spiritual and theological capacity of staff, students and families.

  2. Identify and define our core school values in order to build a connected and inspired community that is united in living the Gospel.

  3. Teachers will embed BCE Effective and Expected (E&E) Practices across key subject areas and all year levels.

  4. Monitor and analyse student data to identify strategies to move student learning forward.

  5. Develop a whole school wellbeing framework that nurtures holistic wellbeing of staff and students.

Additional School Priorities

  1. Develop a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) demonstrating our commitment to promoting reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the broader Guardian Angels’ School community.
  2. In consultation with the community, a Refurbishment Masterplan will be created to guide the future growth and development of Guardian Angels’ Primary School.

I look forward to seeing many of you on Thursday evening as you join your child’s class teacher for the Parent Partnership teacher session. I have re-published the important details in our latest newsletter to ensure we have a great and safe night.
