This Sunday, we celebrate Pentecost. It is a very important day in the life of our Church. Pentecost marks the end of the 50 days of the Easter festival. The Risen Jesus visited and stayed with his disciples until he rose into Heaven. Before that time, Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit, just as God sent his Son, Jesus, to be with them. Pentecost, marks the occasion when the Holy Spirit descended on the disciples and breathed life into what is now known as our Church.
On Tuesday, we came together in unity to celebrate Pentecost with Fr John. Fr John spoke beautifully to the students and summed up the importance of Pentecost with one simple, yet powerful statement. Pentecost represents the birth of our Church.
