Mothers Day

As we enter the month of May we remember the significance of Mary, the Mother of Jesus. In the Catholic tradition, May is dedicated to Mary. Many of our classes are looking at various prayers that are devoted to Mary, including the Hail Mary and the Magnificat.

On the 24th May, we celebrate the feast of Mary, Help  of Christians. Mary, the mother of Jesus, is the patron saint of Australia; not to be confused with St Mary of the Cross Mackillop, who is Australia’s first saint. We would like to extend an invitation to our community to learn about and celebrate Mary in the month of May. Our parent formation session details are below and we look forward to seeing you.

It is timely, that while Jesus’ mother is celebrated in May, we celebrate our own mothers and special women in our lives. W e would like to wish all the Mother’s in our community a very happy Mother’s Day and invite you to join us in prayer, for all Mother’s.

We thank you, O Lord, for the gift of Motherhood.
May those blessed with children be granted the gifts of courage,
perseverance and good health.
May they face each new day with faith and hope in your abiding love.
May all families find in the strength of your love.
The priceless gift of peace.
And so bear witness to your glory.
Amen

Whether you are a mother or a grandmother, aunt or godmother, we wish you the most wonderful of days.
